In Loving Memory of Pastor G. P. Tharkan
A Faithful Servant, A Courageous Warrior, A Life Well-Lived for Christ
With deep sorrow yet unshaken hope in Christ, we remember the life and ministry of Pastor G. P. Tharkan, our former Minister-in-Charge of The Pentecostal Church of God, affiliated with Sharon Fellowship Church, Sabarmati – Ahmedabad.
Pastor Tharkan was appointed to our congregation on 1 December 1987, and for nearly three years he faithfully shepherded the church with dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to God’s Word. His ministry left an enduring spiritual impact, and many in our fellowship still cherish the warmth of his pastoral guidance, his earnest prayers, and his passion for the Gospel.
A Valiant Servant of God
On 15 November 2025, Pastor Tharkan peacefully entered his eternal rest. He lived as a valiant servant of the Almighty, standing firm in faith through every season of life. His devotion to Christ was steadfast—marked by perseverance, humility, and deep love for the church.
As a pastor under the Sharon Fellowship Church, he served God’s people with a shepherd’s heart. Through trials and triumphs, he proved himself a strong warrior of faith, completing his earthly journey with grace, dignity, and spiritual strength. His life reminds us of Paul’s testimony:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
Pastor Tharkan truly finished his race gracefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith that will continue to inspire generations.
A Time to Remember and Honour
To honour his memory and celebrate his life, the church organised a Memorial Service on 19 November 2025 at 8:00 PM. The congregation gathered in unity to reflect on his ministry, worship the Lord he served wholeheartedly, and find comfort in the blessed hope of resurrection.
His Funeral Service will take place on 20 November 2025 in Kerala, where family, friends, and fellow believers will bid him a final farewell until we meet again in glory.
His Legacy Lives On
Pastor G. P. Tharkan leaves behind a testimony of unwavering faith, sincere ministry, and a life wholly surrendered to God. His impact continues to live in the hearts of the many lives he touched—through his preaching, prayers, counsel, and quiet strength.
As a church, we honour his service and praise God for the gift of his life. While our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in the assurance that he is now in the presence of the Lord, where there is fullness of joy.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” – Psalm 116:15
May the Lord comfort the bereaved family, strengthen the church, and help us carry forward the faith that Pastor Tharkan so faithfully upheld.
